Understanding the wind in Boracay
Boracay offers excellent wind conditions for kitesurfing and wingfoiling. The high season runs from late October to late April, sometimes even into mid-May in some years, with a side-onshore north-easterly wind blowing at an average of 18 to 20 knots on Bolabog Beach. December, January and February are typically the windiest months of the season. October, March and April offer more moderate wind conditions.
The low season (July to October) can also be windy, but is generally accompanied by scattered rain showers and less consistent wind — we therefore recommend planning your stay during the high season.
Our Kwind weather station, installed directly on Bolabog Beach, provides you with real-time wind readings. The Windguru forecasts integrated into the widget above are our daily reference for planning lessons and sessions. We check conditions every morning and inform our students if conditions are not suitable for their level.

Frequently asked questions about the wind in Boracay
The wind blows reliably in Boracay from late October to late April, during the Amihan season (north-easterly trade wind). This is the ideal period for kitesurfing and wingfoiling, with consistent winds between 15 and 30 knots on Bolabog Beach, blowing side-onshore — the ideal direction for safe practice. December, January and February are generally the windiest months. From June to October, it is the Habagat season (south-westerly wind) — the rainy season, with more irregular wind that blows onshore on White Beach.
Our widget on this page combines two tools: Kwind, our weather station installed on Bolabog Beach, which provides live wind readings, and Windguru, which provides forecasts several days ahead. Both are our daily references for planning sessions and lessons. To follow the wind at any time from your phone, download the Kwind app and search for “Boracay Isla Kitesurfing School”, or the Windguru app and search for “Boracay”.
For beginner kitesurfers, 12 to 18 knots is ideal — enough to learn without being overpowered. Intermediate and advanced riders enjoy the days between 18 and 28 knots, which are frequent during the Amihan. For wingfoiling, conditions are optimal between 12 and 20 knots. Below 10 knots, lessons may be postponed or adapted. Our team checks the forecast every morning and will let you know if conditions are not suitable.
